10 Greatest UFC Signature Moves

6. Conor McGregor's Straight Left

Rarely does a UFC list go by without the 'Notorious' Conor McGregor finding himself on it. Though he has found worldwide fame through his ability to tear his adversaries to shreds on the microphone, never forget that it's his ability as a fighter that first caught Dana White's attention.

McGregor's history in amateur boxing, at a young age, definitely influenced his style in the octagon. This could be seen as he intergrated his ability to throw punches into an arsenal of Capoeira, Tae Kwon Do flurries - a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu only further reinforcing his ability as an all-rounder.

However, it'll come as little surprise to find that 18 of his 21 victories have come from KO. Conor's straight left has been responsible for its fair share of these.

What makes the move so successful is McGregor's ability to entice his victim into putting his head into an area that allows for the strike to land with magnificent effect.

If you analyse his fight with Eddie Alvarez, you'll find that the 'Notorious' one used his superior reach to fluster the Lightweight champion from a distance. This forced Alvarez to try and get in closer to deal some damage - and dodge the oncoming jabs - only for McGregor to seize this opportunity to land his trademark straight left with accuracy.

McGregor makes this execution look simple, when in reality, it's anything but.
