10 MMA Submissions That Are Almost Impossible To Escape From

9. Schoolyard Choke

As the name suggests, this move often crops up in many a schoolyard.

It doesn't tend to be pulled off with quite the same level of technique as Matt from Team Phoenix demonstrated when he nearly popped your writer's head off in his walk-through of the schoolyard choke.

You begin your process by going for the aforementioned rear-naked choke. If that move fails and your rival peels the arm away - which you were using to push their head forward - you'll probably find it hard to finish them with only the one arm secured around their neck.

So, you want to yank your compromised arm out of their grasp and form a grip with your other hand. You can either choose to use a gable grip (which involves your hands clasping without your fingers interlacing) or you can use the fireman's grip (which requires you to latch your opposite fingers underneath each other like a chain).

Your forearm (of the arm that you've yanked free) now needs to be placed on your adversary's back, whilst, your other arm's bicep and forearm should still safely be snug around their carotid artery.

To seal the deal, simply push your head into their neck and watch the bad times roll for the poor soul in front of you.

Once this one's completely locked in, your only option is an early shower and a sudden realisation of just how far off the mark you were when you attempted the sucker in your full school uniform back in the day.
