10 Doctor Who Deleted Scenes You Need To See

7. A Fantastic Introduction

Doctor Who Series 2 deleted scene

When Doctor Who was revived in 2005, the man chosen to lead the way was Christopher Eccleston.

The Manchester-born actor helmed the ship for just a single series, and in the episode immediately following Eccleston's farewell, new leading man David Tennant very nearly paid tribute to his predecessor.

In a deleted scene from The Christmas Invasion, Tennant's Tenth Doctor confronts the Sycorax and attempts to bust out his old catchphrase of "Fantastic." Only problem is, he can't get the word out.

It "doesn't fit the teeth" anymore, apparently.

Ten then tries out a bunch of synonyms before abandoning the idea altogether. It's a pretty funny 30 seconds or so, but it was ultimately deemed superfluous and cut from the final broadcast.

Though it added nothing to the story, it would've been nice for fans to see this direct bridge between the old Doctor and the new one. Also, we would've got the first Tennant utterance of "Molto Bene" significantly earlier.
