10 2020 Mistakes WWE Will Definitely Repeat

9. Fawning Over Any Celebrity Attention

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Rob Gronkowski was the next coming of John Cena the way WWE went on about him during the first quarter of 2020. 'Gronk' was going to revolutionise the business, baby! Or, he'd shuffle back off to the NFL when Tom Brady came calling.

This is arguably a wider issue with pro wrestling as a whole, to be fair. The biz has this odd inferiority complex next to mainstream media, which is why WWE (the undoubted leaders when it comes to this) get all gooey whenever a celeb shows them any attention.

Just look at what's happening with Cardi B right now.

The rapper fired out some confused tweets about the company and WWE leapt on them like she'd decided to ditch top-charting albums for Total Divas. That isn't going to change over the next year; WWE will delight over securing any celebrity they can, and they'll do it even if it makes them look desperate.
