10 "Add-On" Wrestling Signings That Became Major Players

1. Eddie Guerrero

In this article's intro, it was said that Vince McMahon wasn't especially sold on three quarters of The Radicalz group who came over from WCW in 2000. To be blunt, he thought they were bland, and literally remarked that Eddie Guerrero was "so tiny" to Bruce Prichard after meeting him. For Vince, Chris Benoit was the only one with any potential.

Four years later, Guerrero was WWE Champion.

Prichard insinuated on his podcast special looking at the foursome that three of them only made the jump so WWE could hurt WCW. In fact, Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko had said themselves during negotiations that they'd happily pass on a deal if that was the only way Benoit could be hired. They believed their friend deserved the opportunity.

In the end, McMahon signed them all. He couldn't have predicted Eddie's meteoric babyface rise as a lying, cheating rascal, nor could he have said with any confidence that the smallest man of the lot would be the only one WWE talk about in glowing terms today.
