10 "New" Tag Teams That Failed Miserably In WWE

3. The New Midnight Express

Whether it was the pairing of Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose, Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton, or Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, the Midnight Express was an incredibly popular tag team in the southern part of the United States for most of the 1980s. Though the team had various members and pairings throughout the decade, the Express found success everywhere they went.

Led by Jim Cornette, the Midnight Express competed in multiple promotions throughout the '80s, most notably Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). The team never made it to the WWF until 1998 when a "new" version was introduced for the first time in nearly a decade. Formerly known as Bob Holly and Bart Gunn, respectively, Bombastic Bob and Bodacious Bart formed the "New Midnight Express" - and were also managed by Jim Cornette.

Like most tag team recreations that came before them, the New Midnight Express went straight to the bottom. Despite winning the NWA Tag Team Championship, the team was so bad Cornette truly believed the entire gimmick was a rib by Vince McMahon.

Judging by their (lack of) success, it probably was.
