Monday Night Raw has only ever featured one 60-Minute Iron Man Match and you will never hear them speak of it again, as it starred Chris Benoit as not only the winner but defending World Heavyweight Champion. This titanic main event occurred in the final Raw of July 2004 and saw Triple H attempting to utilise his Evolution buddies Flair and Batista to steal the title from the resilient Benoit. At the close of the bout, the ref took a bump with 4 minutes to go and Evolution ran down with the score tied at 3-3 and overtime looming. A bloody and exhausted Benoit was beaten down before Eugene- a controversial and unique character portrayed by Nick Dinsmore- ran down to wipe out Evolution and even the score, dropping Hunter like a bad habit with a steel chair. Benoit would win the bout 4-3 with 6 seconds remaining. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=mAfiPKMwGNY#t=2856 If the 60 minutes of action wasn't enough, the post-match call by Jim Ross putting over Eugene's retribution was superb. It highlights how Ross could take a normal angle and make it memorable and why he his the greatest announcer there's ever been.
