Say what you will about the mistakes WWE made with the Invasion angle of 2001 (and there were many), it still produced some classic moments, particularly in the beginning, prior to the Invasion PPV. It has two separate entries on this list. The first was the curve-ball that was ECW being added to the mix on one classic episode of Raw in July, which also saw WCW and Shane McMahon turn heel, having been presented as faces against the heel Vince McMahon's empire previously. The close of the episode saw the WWF and WCW 'unite' against the invading ECW only for the WCW guys to turn on the WWF, and merge with ECW. Surrounded in the ring by scores of WCW and ECW wrestlers, the final nail in the coffin was unveiled when Shane McMahon revealed sister Stephanie as ECW's new owner, pitting Vince's two children against him. Jim Ross despaired on commentary praying for our WWF souls and the Invasion PPV scored the highest non-Wrestlemania PPV buyrate of all time. It was a good start that unfortunately spiraled down hill.
Betting on being a brilliant brother to Bodhi since 2008 (-1 Asian Handicap). Find me @LiamJJohnson on Twitter where you might find some wonderful pearls of wisdom in a stout cocktail of profanity, football discussion and general musings. Or you might not. Depends how red my eyes are.
