John Cena gets a lot of stick and the majority of it is frankly unwarranted. However, there is one particular angle Cena deserves to be reviled for and that was how he single-handedly derailed The Nexus storyline, following one of the hottest angles WWE produced in years- that being their debut. Smashing up the ringside area, attacking the announcers, destroying the ring, the infamous Justin Roberts tie-choking incident which wasn't actually that bad. It was hot, shocking and the perfect debut. At Summerslam 2010, John Cena made the decision to get the planned finish- that being a Nexus victory- changed to see him as the sole-survivor. In the months that followed, Cena's eventual joining of the group, refusal to wear any of their gear and overshadowing of Barrett's potential WWE Title win with an awful firing angle which saw him miss not a single episode of Raw, saw the Nexus' momentum well and truly derailed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVVtqoqzgNw&feature=player_detailpage#t=746 Cena has since admitted he was mistaken to refuse to job to the Nexus at Summerslam and he was. It doesn't change the fact, however, that there exists one specific angle for which Cena deserved the ire he continues to receive.
