4. Chris Jericho Vs. MJF

It took a fairly hokey restart for fans to really bite on the ramifications of the Chris Jericho/MJF match, but does the fact that they swallowed the thing whole and screamed for more render that minor quibble redundant?

Chicago came unglued for Jericho in that overtime stretch as he secured the safety of his wrestling career for the foreseeable. In the build-up to that, though, the feud finally and conclusively ran out of juice.

A good-not-ever-great encounter located odd moments of fury between men that have been on each others cases for the better part of a year, but the rest felt far too functional for its own good. Jericho lobbing a tier separator from the audience on MJF was cute Jake Hager yet again got an inexplicably enormous pop for chasing off Wardlow in a half-baked interference bit, and Jericho looked doomed when he was spiked on the apron.

The rest was lethargic as Jericho's character feels. The Fozzy tour still can't come soon enough, along with whatever write-off they give him before the much-needed break.
