10 AEW Stars Who Desperately Need More TV Time

6. Dustin Rhodes

Joey Janela
AEW

Dustin was a fixture of early Dynamites and AEW PPVs but we’ve not seen an awful lot of him lately. He was the perfect super-sub against Sammy Guevara a couple of weeks ago, though if Cody had been available we’d probably still be waiting for another glimpse of “The Natural”.

His ageing veteran status means Dustin can absorb any number of losses and remain a credible scalp for up and coming guys. This could help fix AEW’s current problem with wrestlers showing up on TV demanding title shots because of a YouTube winning streak most viewers haven’t followed. Give those guys a win on TV over someone like Dustin and it instantly multiplies their credibility.

The older Rhodes brother has an important backstage role, and of course Tony Khan wants to find TV time for younger talent, but Dustin won’t be popping off Canadian Destroyers forever. His matches are always entertaining. Whether pulling off an unlikely high spot or simply calling a halt to proceedings while he catches his breath, the man knows how to pop a crowd. It would be nice to make the most of him while we can.
