But Kenny Omega's night wasn't over.

As he did in sensational segments in late 2017, Chris Jericho emerged from the fog of 'The Best Bout Machine's latest barnburner to "smash f*ck out him" (not actually a quote yet, but almost certainly will be within the next couple of months when Jericho's cutting promos from inside the middle of a Grey Goose bottle) in an effort almost ruined by a comedic plug for their upcoming tag team scuffle on his cruise.

The ramifications of his act of malice towards Kenny are perhaps bigger than the assault itself. There seemed an unspoken bond between Vince McMahon and 'Y2J' for Jericho to not work on United States soil, but the New Japan incarnation of his act was most definitely on (closer-to)home soil for the beatdown.

Did Jericho make a point of booking the pass out with McMahon so long in advance that he never even clocked the reason? Did he act completely without the knowledge of his regular gaffer as a calculated risk to up his value? Though answers may not be forthcoming, these will be the questions Jericho wants asked in the first place. Jericho may not be a member of The Elite, but his ability to hustle extends even beyond the reach of Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.
