2. Making It Rain

Marty Scurll's inconsistencies in his 'Villain' persona have on occasion made his inexorable profile rise since joining Bullet Club something of a contentious matter.

Whilst his fundamentals are sound, there seems something lacking in his end product no matter how ostentatious his entrance attire continues to be. Almost the polar opposite before he traded his t-shirt and balloons for a new darker gown and plenty of new Okada dollars, 'The Rainmaker' was lost in the fog rather than soaked in resplendence for much of the summer.

A broken man since losing his title to Scurll associate Kenny Omega, Okada has only gradually begun reclaiming his throne as an actual wrestling god, and this middling status allowed for an incredible period of stress and concern for those cheering the New Japan star in his efforts against the Junior Heavyweight.

He got the job done too, but not before Marty deployed the greatest ever iteration of his finger-breaking spot. After Okada taunted him with a "2-0-5" hand signal to mock his failure to elevate himself from NJPW's lightweight leag, Scurll grabbed a digit from that high-five and made a break. He couldn't break wrist control on Okada's last Rainmaker clothesline either, but few have. He broke new ground as a performer though - his brush with greatness may yet continue his marked improvement.
