10 Amazing Stats On Asuka’s Undefeated Streak

9. 249+ Matches Total For WWE/NXT

Though not an astonishing statistic in and of itself considering the relative normalcy of the number across the roster thanks to WWE's punishing grind, the weight of the ever-increasing figure rapidly increases when considering that she genuinely hasn't ever been pinned or submitted.

Reality in wrestling - particularly when constructing the supposed infallibility of a performer - has rarely been so well preserved.

In attempting to inflate Bill Goldberg's WCW streak in the mid-1990s, the company had to manufacture all sorts of loopholes to explain his race to 173-0. Handicap matches were counting double, battle royal wins resulted in every participant going on the list, whilst alleged multiple house show squashes were completely fabricated. Several years earlier, Tatanka went on a tear during his maiden 18 months with WWE, but a number was never dropped on television to give his record heft - a televised revelation of the company's infamous 'Killer Kalendar' back then may have revealed much sooner how Vince McMahon was callously running his performers into the floor.

Until Asuka is pinned, the figure will continue shooting upwards too. It's a record almost certain to never be beaten again.
