...And there's more to Asuka's Survivor Series victory than just 'brand supremacy' too.

The November pay-per-view has been uncharacteristically kind to the women's division through every awkward manifestation the company have dabbled with over the years. An elimination encounter took place on the very first edition in 1987 just as it did in forcefully progressive fashion 30 years later, and the show has played host to title defences alongside a raft of singles, doubles and multi-women skirmishes.

The 'Empress Of Tomorrow's own record at the show unsurprisingly has a little more heft than a single-pinfall battle stolen by Kelly Kelly in the dark days of the 'Diva'. Asuka survived her elimination clash all alone, a feat only matched by Aja Kong and Beth Phoenix in 1995 and 2008 respectively.

Predictably, the periods paint extremely different pictures, but Asuka's achievement last November remains the most significant of the three. Groomed as a challenger to Alundra Blayze (pre-belt binning), Kong was bullish and fierce at the pay-per-view but was subsequently a non-factor following post-show Raw squashes. Beth Phoenix remains rightfully considered as a diamond in the rough, with the 'Glamazon's skill between the ropes a rule-proving exception.

WWE's women's division has never been better, and yet again Asuka stood atop it.
