Rey Mysterio has a long history of aping superheroes for the biggest matches of his career, and in pretty much every instance his pen-and-ink influences have been quite clear. Over the years, King Mystery has zipped down to ring in outfits recalling some of comics' finest including Daredevil, The Joker, Captain America and Flash Gordon, and he repeated the trick at SummerSlam 2007, launching up the entrance ramp as the Silver Surfer.

When Vince McMahon saw Rey daubed like a living statue you'd see in Covent Garden, his toupee hit the ceiling. Livid, the chairman gave the match agent Dean Malenko an absolute earful, completely perplexed as to why one of his most marketable stars was out there shirtless and covered in silver paint. When the put upon 'Iceman' explained as best he could, Vince simply said, "That's not Rey." It was though.
