10 AMAZING WWE Matches (You Should Never EVER Watch)

These eye-catching WWE "classics" are very much worth skipping, but why?

Please note, "amazing" does not necessarily mean good.

That word does a bit of heavy lifting here, but the alternative dictionary definition beyond "very impressive" is actually "causing great surprise or wonder; astonishing". You'll agree it is "astonishing" that WWE thought some of the matches going under the microscope here were a good idea in the first place.

Others are tagged "classics", but this is subjective in retrospect. Watch some of WWE's faves now and you might just be left a tad disappointed - they don't exactly hold up, which is why younger fans should listen to crusty old tales about them rather than sitting down to watch bell-to-bell. That could be an eye-opening experience!

Admittedly, a few on the list are considered excellent matches by all, but they have their own unique reasons for why you should skip. One is particularly distressing to watch back now, whereas another just feels depressing knowing what'd happen to one of the wrestlers involved next.

As always, the pitchforks could be out for some entries. For example, traditionalists reading this will not like what's up first. Sorry, but it has to be said...

10. Hulk Hogan Vs. Andre The Giant

Where: WrestleMania 3

Why You Shouldn't Watch: ...Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant, whilst visually impressive, was a super-basic match that flattered to deceive. That continuation of the introduction's ellipsis was only there for dramatic effect, and drama was certainly all over the place heading into a truly massive pay-per-view spectacular for the then-WWF.

Is it unfair to judge Hogan vs. Andre on today's lofty standards? Yes, absolutely, but few watch movies from the 1980s without passing comment on crummy special effects compared to what's on offer in 2023. That's just the way life works, which is why 'Mania III's headliner is included here.

This writer isn't suggesting for one minute that Hulk's battle with his giant former pal doesn't have merit. It sure does, but excellent story can't save the nuts and bolts in-ring. Andre was past his prime, Hulk had his routine, and 12 minutes felt like 122.

Just...remember the body slam spot and leave it at that.
