10 Annoying Ways WWE Ruined What We Once Loved
8. Finisher Kickouts - Overused (Again!)
This is becoming a recurring them now.
Finisher kickouts are yet another trope that WWE have spammed us with over the years. It has now come to a point where it is pretty much expected that wrestlers will kick out of multiple finishers during any big match.
And that is such an excitement killer. Finisher kickouts are meant to be one of the most jaw-dropping sights in wrestling. The moment, the reactions, they become part of wrestling folklore. No one can ever get the image of the Undertaker’s face after Michaels had kicked out of a Tombstone Piledriver at WrestleMania 25 out of their heads. And nor should they!
These days, it’s almost a given in high profile matches that nothing serious is about to happen until someone lands the first finisher. It’s the law of diminishing returns, simple as that.
