When it could happen - WrestleMania 31 Why we can't wait - Two mainstream names clashing would generate a huge draw for WWE The Rock and Brock Lesnar are good personal friends, a relationship forged on The Rock doing the honours for Lesnar early in The Beast's WWE career. That goodwill endured, with Rock attending and being pictured backstage at Lesnar's UFC fights. Upon Lesnar returning to WWE in 2012, with Rock having returned to action too, the idea of Rock vs Brock 2 was instantly on everyone's minds. For WWE they'd be getting to promote the clash of two crossover mainstream stars, for Rock and Brock meanwhile they'd get to work with somebody they liked. The plan was all set up to shoot an angle for the match just after WrestleMania 29, with the bout scheduled to main event Mania 30. Unfortunately The Rock got injured before the angle could ever take place, squashing any potential match this year. Fast forward to the present day and WWE are thinking about the match for WrestleMania 31. Lesnar is available and Rock is undecided. There's a decent chance it could happen. The money will be huge for all involved, with this being a match that is sure to attract many additional casual fans due to the superstar's fame. On the one hand you have the biggest MMA draw ever, on the other the biggest wrestling draw ever (who is also a Hollywood movie star). We hope it happens. The first match at SummerSlam 2002 was entertaining, thirteen years on at WrestleMania 31 it would become an even bigger spectacle.
