The Attitude Era is widely hailed as the most popular boom period on wrestling history. From roughly 1997 - 2001, wrestling crossed over into the mainstream in a way it never had before. Stars like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock and Mankind broke through into popular culture and the worlds of TV, film and books. Everyone seemed to be firing on all cylinders as WWF revolutionised what televised professional wrestling was. The Attitude Era was full of epic and memorable moments. From Steve Austin giving The Corporation a beer bath, to Mankind's momentous championship win, any list of best moments in wrestling are usually heavily weighted towards episodes of Raw is War and SmackDown from this innovative time in wrestling history. A lot of these moments can be attributed to Vince Russo and his "Shock and Awe" style of writing television. As WWF sought to one-up WCW in anyway possible during The Monday Night War, they adopted a sort of "Let's see what sticks" attitude.
