Kenny Omega is up there with the best in the world. In both kayfabe and reality, he reaps the rewards of a stellar reputation. Omega currently holds the top prize in AEW, IMPACT Wrestling, and AAA. Numerous promotions and publications have named him their Wrestler of the Year and have awarded his work with Match of the Year honours.
Omega is famous for matches in NJPW that shattered Dave Meltzer’s star rating system, to the point it has spawned numerous memes. His highest rated match was a seven-star clash with Kazuchika Okada at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall (9 June 2018).
You’d think a supreme talent like Omega would be hard for wrestling fans to hate. While it is difficult, he has a proven heel run as the Bullet Club’s fourth leader and courted serious heat for competing in an intergender match against nine-year-old Haruka.
Omega has been an integral part of AEW since its conception, serving as an Executive Vice President, and proving invaluable to the in-ring product. Still, as a heel backed by Don Callis, he has never been more compelling.
