WWE never did enough with Cryme Tyme. The amazing duo of JTG and the late Shad Gaspard entertained millions of WWE fans with their charisma and chemistry, being two of the most underrated talkers in WWE at their peak. They were significantly over and were always a welcome sight on television, especially in 2008.

In 2008, John Cena was in the midst of major backlash from a part of the fanbase. He was the top star in the company and was having some of the best wrestling matches in the world, but a lot of fans wanted something different from him.

Pairing him with Cryme Tyme was a great way to add some spark to Cena’s character, create some fun segments and benefit Gaspard and JTG by giving them the opportunity to learn alongside Cena. Their segment destroying JBL’s limo is one of the funniest Raw moments of the 2000s, and them being given an official stable name, Cryme Tyme Cenation, seemed to guarantee future collaborations which sadly didn’t happen.

There’s this melancholy over their clips together now that Shad’s no longer with us, but it’s a testament to his undeniable charisma that it’s impossible not to smile watching the trio together.
