10 Awesome WWE Groups That Didn't Get Enough Time
3. Chad Gable And Shelton Benjamin
There were few better intentional heel on SmackDown in late 2017 than Chad Gable. The man was an underrated heat magnet, capable of perfectly irritating the crowd with his impeccably egotistical promos, standing out on the blue brand with his improved mic work and new character.
Pairing him with Shelton Benjamin, one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time, was a genius decision as they were a perfect heel duo. There was genuine potential there, with their chemistry on the mic improving every week they got a segment, and their in-ring abilities were some of the best in WWE at that point.
Unfortunately, WWE just didn’t care about their talents and buried them in a disappointing 2 out of 3 Falls match with The Usos at Royal Rumble 2018. They had momentum going into the event, but they lost 2 falls straight and got nothing significant in their remaining months together.
Gable formed another tag team with Bobby Roode later in 2018 before becoming Shorty G, Benjamin floated around doing nothing until becoming part of The Hurt Business this year. It‘s baffling that this duo were split up so quickly when they had such potential. A major shame.
