10 Awesome WWE Matches You Might Have Missed In 2017

Another match involving Mustafa Ali here, and another match that probably won't be featuring on too many people's end-of-year lists - as is perhaps the case with almost any cruiserweight match not involving Neville.

Drew Gulak made for a pretty fitting opponent, both men having been criminally under-used over the course of 2017, to the extent that neither of them have really been given a meangingful run at 205 Live's biggest prize (even though Enzo Amore has - go figure).

The great thing about this match was that it wasn't simply a high-flying exhibition (although we can never really have too many of those). It was actually the culmination of a long-term feud, hence the two out of three falls stipulation which set it apart from every other bout on the show.

It was also a clash of styles: Gulak attempting to disarm his opponent through the use of rest-holds and Ali, as ever, using every opportunity to take things to the top rope. It was expertly performed, and the crowd (or those that were there, anyway) seemed genuinely invested.
