10 Awesome WWE Stars Who Returned Even Better Than Before

7. Edge

Much like his aforementioned partner Christian, Edge’s initial singles run in the WWE didn’t quite live up to the heights of his former glories in tag team action. Some mid-card accolades came his way, namely Intercontinental and United States titles, but nothing much of note other than that.

Unlike Christian though, rather than going to TNA in order to make a name for himself, Edge’s departure was rather less voluntary. Ahead of No Way Out 2003, a neck injury forced him to have major surgery that would keep him out of action for over a year.

He’d eventually return to Raw during the 2004 Draft Lottery, and though his first year or so revolved largely around Tag Team and Intercontinental title success, bigger and better things would soon beckon.

His ascent up the card culminated in his Money in the Bank cash-in on John Cena at New Year’s Revolution 2006. Far from being a one-hit wonder though, Edge went on to win ten further world championships and put together some of the greatest feuds in history with the likes of Cena and the Undertaker.

He’d always been a huge talent, but it wasn’t before he returned in 2004 that he realised his true potential.
