4. Justin Roberts “Loses” His Passport

News of Mauro Ranallo’s situation has brought a number of similar incidents to light over the past week, with former ring announcer Justin Roberts providing a particularly dismal account of WWE’s bully culture. During a Reddit Q&A last week, Roberts revealed that he was “terrorised” by JBL at the start of his 12-year spell with the company, peaking with Bradshaw stealing his passport on a European tour.

This left Roberts stranded, and he was forced to travel from Manchester to London to obtain a new passport from the US embassy. Roberts got himself home in time for his next TV appearance, but he never got his original passport back, and stated that he guarded the new one with his life on the next tour.

JBL has since denied the story in typically boorish fashion:-

John Morrison has claimed that JBL had asked him and Joey Mercury to take the passport, however, which backs Roberts’ claims up. Regardless of the culprit’s identity, Roberts said it best in his new book:

“Stealing a passport out of someone’s bag is a pretty evil rib and not giving it back means it’s no longer a rib.”
