2. Bill DeMott’s Reign Of Terror

When you think of Bill DeMott, you probably don’t think of his run as WCW’s General Hugh G. Rection or his listless spell as Hugh Morrus. Instead, his name likely conjures thoughts of his time spent as head trainer at the WWE Performance Center, and the spate of misconduct allegations that led to his eventual departure.

According to dozens of accounts, DeMott was a gutless bully who subjected his students to some truly horrendous treatment. Racism, homophobia, physical assault, sexual harassment, forcing students to train naked: there’s enough to put him in jail, and with the likes of Curt Hawkins, Trent Barreta, and countless others going public, there’s too much evidence for him to be completely innocent.

WWE “investigated” the allegations at various points from 2013 onwards, but found nothing. and Bill kept his job. The situation peaked with the #FireDeMott hashtag in 2015, and the floodgates opened with dozens of former victims sharing their stories. DeMott denied the allegations, but he conveniently resigned from his position “to avoid any embarrassment or damage to the company” that March. Matt Bloom was installed as his replacement, and there has been no talk of wrongdoing at the PC since.
