10 Most Awkward Real Life Relationships In Wrestling History

3. Ric Flair & Eric Bischoff

In his days of running WCW, many a story will tell you just how much Eric Bischoff's ego was growing out of control. Not only did he think he was the boss of his employees, he seemed to think he owned them, as well. Bischoff's battles with Ric Flair are the stuff of legend. From telling the WCW locker room that Flair never drew a dime in the wrestling business, while Flair was sitting right there in the room, to legal battles with Flair over whether or not Flair was given the go-ahead to go and watch his son wrestle in a high school tournament. These two men hated each other. You can't deny that. Flair has told the stories of how much he hated going to work every day because of Bischoff, and really, nobody can blame him for feeling that way. If you've ever been verbally abused or mistreated by your boss, no matter what line of work you're in, you'd understand where Flair was coming from completely. Fast forward a few years, to 2003, and both Flair and Bischoff are under WWE contract. Bischoff isn't the boss anymore (at least not in real life, as he was the Raw General Manager on-screen). Flair doesn't have the same consequences facing him if he goes after him. At an episode of Raw in March 2003, before the show went on the air, Flair went and confronted Bischoff, which led to a fight. Flair reportedly threw several punches at Bischoff before the fight was broken up by WWE officials. Later in the day, another altercation between the two had to be broken up. Bischoff's side of the fight story is that he had no idea where it all came from. He says that he had been out for beers with Flair and Arn Anderson (Flair's best friend) on multiple occasions since signing with WWE, so he thought all of the bad blood was in the past. It created another awkward working environment, but this time, mostly for the rest of the WWE locker room, who continued having to make sure those two weren't alone in a room for more than a few seconds at a time. In the years since, they have apparently patched things up, and amazingly enough, they consider each other friends now, which really says something about letting grudges go. A lot of people in the wrestling industry could learn from that.
