The animal noises don't stop there.

Freddie Prinze Jr has actually discussed this in several interviews, and it'll probs pop up on his podcast at some point. According to the ex-actor and WWE creative team member, both Sheamus and Wade Barrett were asked to bark like dogs during their respective tryouts.

Back to Cornette for a second - the veteran manager/announcer/promoter mentioned this on 'Drive-Thru' once, and said this wasn't uncommon practice for Vince whenever the boss felt like he wasn't getting the most out of someone promo-wise. His dog barking routine was supposed to break the ice and loosen people up.

Or, y'know, make them feel like complete twats.

One can only imagine what a young Barrett and Sheamus must've been thinking as McMahon encouraged them to do their best impression of Rex for his own amusement. God only knows how they managed to keep a straight face. If they managed to keep straight faces.
