5. Renee Young Scrambles To Sell Nonsense
WWE eventually leaked footage of Renee Young's tryout, and it's cringe city.
The 2012 clip involves a visibly uncomfortable Renee attempting to sell viewers on some bullsh*t "pet groomer" tool. Throughout, she stammers her way through some improvised dialogue about a product that doesn't even exist, and one can almost feel the awkwardness inside that room.
From there, Young was asked to do a little colour commentary with Matt Striker. That didn't turn out to be her thing either, and it wasn't until producers had her host some wrap-up content that she started to settle her nerves - that's something Renee had already been doing on TV in Canada.
There are countless stories about this kind of 'sell this to us' stuff. Former backstage interviewer Sean Mooney had to sell a broom during his audition, for example. Admittedly, that might've been a bit tougher than droning on and on about different animals for a few minutes.
