10 Backstage Stories We Learned From Jim Cornette

7. Cornette Thinks The Brawl For All Was The Stupidest WWE Idea...Ever

This is classic stuff. Cornette just goes on a tear against Vince Russo and Vince McMahon over the Brawl For All, a shoot, Tough Man contest during the Attitude Era. It's filled with trademark Cornette-isms: "One-legged man in a butt kicking contest"; "375 pound human waterbed."

It's also great for Cornette's oft-stated point: that back in the day, wrestlers used to pretend they were hurting each other, and the audience believed it. Today, wrestlers really hurt each other, and the audience thinks it's fake.
