10 Bad-Ass ECW Gimmicks Wasted On Terrible Wrestlers

1. New Jack

New Jack This was the in-ring gimmick that launched a thousand e-fed character traits. New Jack became known for having his song ("Natural Born Killers" by Dr. Dre & Ice Cube) hit, followed by him coming to the ring with a bag/shopping cart full of items like guitars, staple guns, Nintendos, kendo sticks, and anything else he could think of. He'd get in the ring and destroy anyone that was in his way, using those "goodies" to bash, smash, and crash everyone around. Oh, and his song would be playing the entire time. Yes, his increased levels of violence had a soundtrack, and it was a song that featured lyrics such as "decapitating, I ain't hesitating to put you in a funeral home with a bullet in your dome" and "it's like a deadly game of freeze tag, I'll touch you with the .44 mag and you're frozen inside a body bag". It was something that everyone wanted to do. It was entertaining. It was cool. It was different. It was also all New Jack had. He's yet another person on this list that was "hardcore or nothing at all" with his matches. When you watch old ECW matches, you see a lot of people that make you wonder if they had any sort of training at all, or if they just went to Paul Heyman one day and said "I have a pretty decent pain threshold" and that was it. ECW definitely had its fair share of entertaining characters, memorable moments, and a super atmosphere, but there was so much about the company that just wasn't very good.
