10 Bad Habits WWE Must Kick In 2017

9. Heroes Who Behave Like Villains

The past few years have seemingly made WWE completely incapable of building genuinely altruistic, noble babyface protagonists. The company’s “good guys” are often the product’s most obnoxious personalities, and they rarely give the fans a real reason to get behind them. From petty name-calling to cowardly ambushes and outright bullying, WWE faces regularly indulge in the show’s most reprehensible behaviour, and that’s not what we expect from our heroes.

Roman Reigns is the most obvious example, but Seth Rollins is just as pertinent. The Architect’s turn has been a shambles, and while he’s right to feel aggrieved that Triple H screwed him out of the Universal Championship, he has behaved like a petulant child ever since. From calling Chris Jericho “spaklecrotch” to Shield-bombing Jeri-KO with Reigns, Rollins is just as villainous as he was alongside The Authority.

WWE must stop letting their heroes behave like villains if they’re to rebuild Raw’s broken main event scene in particular. When two heels (Jericho & Owens) get your show’s loudest reactions, something has clearly gone very, very wrong, and it’s impossible to know who to root for on Monday nights.
