6. WrestleMania XXVII

Why it's bad: The results that needed to be full of fan service were hugely, hugely unsatisfying. It had all the size and scale and madness of a modern WrestleMania, but none of the joy. The Undertaker and Triple H drew the crowd into their polarising display, but just about everything else booked so well in the build-up flattered to deceive on the night.

One Tweak: Jerry Lawler decimates, destroys and defeats Michael Cole

Ultimately, WWE were bound to a three year agreement between The Rock and John Cena that started here with 'The Great One's involvement in 'The Champ's main event against The Miz. The finish was drab but just about justified by the record buyrate their match drew at the following year's 'Show Of Shows'.

Considering how well it had been crafted on television in the weeks leading up to the event, WWE sh*t the bed with the clash of the commentators. Deciding against all good taste that the feud was worthy of a three-match series, their far-too-even encounter saw Cole steal a short period of dominance in the match and then claim the win itself. The enthusiasm of 70,000+ was flattened in the aftermath.
