10 Bands Synonomous With WWE
9. Cyndi Lauper
Though a unique entry, it is hard to argue that Cyndi Lauper isn't the musical artist with arguably the strongest ties to the WWE on this list.
Lauper was a huge proponent in the Rock 'n' Wrestling connection that saw WWE intertwine with mainstream media to huge success in the mid 1980s. She was even seen winning a Grammy with Hulk Hogan acting as her "bodyguard".
Lauper continued to bring new audiences to WWE as she appeared on Piper's Pit, was part of Saturday Night's Main Event, and managed Wendi Richter at the first ever WrestleMania before providing music for The Wrestling Album (under the alias of Mona Flambe).
Few musical artists have been so prominent and popular on WWE programming as Lauper. Even younger wrestling fans with an eye on the industry's history will hear Lauper's music and have it conjure up images of the inaugural WrestleMania or heated segments with Roddy Piper.
Lauper even returned to WWE for a one night appearance in 2012 bashing poor Heath Slater over the head with a framed record.
