10 Basic Qualities All WWE Heels Should Possess

3. Manipulating Others

This character type is usually a bit smarter than the average wrestler and often avoids defeat not because of their speed or strength, but because of their brain. Many great manipulators have prospered due to a wealth of power, money, or even having the right connections that they will use solely to their advantage. As mentioned already, all heels eventually get their comeuppance, but the manipulative characters are often able to avoid it longer than others. The manipulator is one that everyone wants to see get a taste of their own medicine, but often outmaneuver their opponents outside of the ring. Some of the greatest heels ever exemplified such as Vince McMahon, Ric Flair, Ted DiBiase and more recently, Stephanie McMahon, have exemplified this. Stephanie is an example of a modern day heel that seems to be victorious far more often than not. Over the past two years, there have been less than a handful of occasions where anyone has extracted any sort of revenge involving the Billion Dollar Princess. In one of those cases, it took the former undefeated UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey to get it done. Even then, it was a brief encounter and far from conclusive. Still, the manipulator is an effective portrayal of a wrestling villain and is usually one of the stronger characters on the show.
