10 Beloved Wrestlers FIRED By WWE

2. Eddie Guerrero

Eddie Guerrero tragically passed away on November 13, 2005 as a result of heart failure.

18 years later, and most weeks, you will see a professional wrestler pay tribute to his seminal work. A shimmy of the shoulders, a frog splash, a trifecta of suplexes: Eddie wasn't just beloved by generations, plural, of professional wrestlers.

They want to be him or as good as he was, at least. They live out that dream in the ring.

One of the most vastly influential pro wrestlers to ever do it, Guerrero was a joy, a genius, of an all-rounder. Few moves look as disgusting as the powerbombs he took against Chris Benoit in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The soaring flight of his springboard arm drag looked majestic, and the torque was such that it never looked cooperative. He was just dynamite in there, ablaze with charisma, and he was so witty and charming and yet also sinister that he was a TV writer's dream, too. He was the master of all trades.

He was also deeply troubled, which led to his November 12, 2001 firing. He later returned, but his arrest for drink driving three days prior convinced the WWF to terminate his deal. It's not exactly nice, putting it WWE's way, but he could not be relied upon at the time.

That's why they let him go; the arrest followed a lengthy attempt at rehab.
