10 Best AEW Matches So Far
1. Kenny Omega & Hangman Page Vs. The Young Bucks - Revolution
The perfect tag team wrestling match. Skill, excitement, tension, high stakes, history - this bout for the ages had it all.
Some argue that to be part of a great match with The Young Bucks, all their opponents need to do is show up. Matt & Nick Jackson are so groundbreaking in tag team action that little effort is required from whoever is across the ring from them due to their innate ability. However, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page's involvement in this is what made it a six star classic.
The initial animosity between Page and Matt Jackson signalled that despite the fact these were friends competing with each other, that goes out the window when titles are up for grabs. The four men constructed their tag team magnum opus together; jaw-dropping sequences not only showcased athletic ability, but the talent in weaving narrative into them and echoing the group's shared experiences - Hangman Page using the One Winged Angel and Omega's outrage at The Bucks utilising The Golden Trigger were shining examples of this.
Perhaps the greatest thing about this sensational spectacle is that when it was over... it still wasn't really over. Fans have picked up on occasions when The Elite have alluded to it since, and Page's reluctance in the immediate aftermath to let bygones be bygones will no doubt inform the eventual conclusion to this story.
Match of the year? This is already a leading contender for match of the decade.
