2. Brock Lesnar

The Brock Lesnar of 2002-2005 was a very talented star (his WWE Title match with Eddie Guerrero remains one of the most underrated bouts in company history), but the Brock who returned in 2012 was a totally different kind of beast. A former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar was now confirmed as one of the most dangerous men on Earth, and so his bouts began to take on a different tone - one where he, as a 6'3", 286-pound hurricane of offense, would simply overwhelm foes with as much realism as pro wrestling gets.

Still, his bouts with stars who weren't keen on taking a real-life beating - like Triple H, for instance - often suffered. When they looked too much like standard pro wrestling bouts, they started to feel fake. In those situations, fans got bored.

At SummerSlam 2014, WWE changed the formula. That evening, Brock won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from John Cena, overwhelming him with 16 German suplexes en route to a decisive win. This "Suplex City" version of Lesnar allowed "The Beast" to have matches that were simultaneously one-sided and exciting, without needing to resort to "real" punches, elbows, or takedowns. These days, there's no wrestler with whom Brock Lesnar can't have a good match because there's no wrestler whom he can't throw around like a crash test dummy.
