3. Vs. Chris Benoit - Smackdown (December 4 2003)

Chris Benoit was one of WWEs greatest in ring workers of all time - that can never be contested - and when he matched up against Brock Lesnar on December 4 2003, it was an excellent contest.

With the WWE Championship on the line, both men contested a physically intense style, with plenty of suplexes and mat based work. Heroically, Benoit almost won, capturing Lesnar in the Crippler Crossface, only to be thwarted by a downed ref. The underdog then kicked out of an F5 as Brock recovered, but ultimately passed out in the Brock Lock.

It was a match so good, that it propelled Benoit to win the Royal Rumble a month later, before he went on to win the World Title from Triple H at WrestleMania.
