10 Best Builds To WWE WrestleMania Main Events

7. The Rock Vs. John Cena (WrestleMania XXVIII)

The Rock returned to WWE TV on February 14th, 2011 and as soon as he mentioned John Cena, fans hoped there'd be a match between the two, but little did we know, WWE would make fans wait over a year for it. Rock and Cena cut promos on each other back and forth in the lead up to WrestleMania XXVII until Cena gave Rock an AA on the go-home RAW. The Great One responded by costing Cena the title at 'Mania with The Miz retaining the championship. The next night Rock and Cena shook hands and agreed on a match, one year later at WrestleMania XXVIII. After a pretty silly stint of them teaming up together at Survivor Series, things got back to basics in February 2012, when each week Rock and Cena would trade verbal blows. Rock would talk about the WWE needing something better than "You Can't See Me" while Cena would proclaim that Rock is now a visitor in WWE and this is Cena's life. With some of the most compelling and realistic promos of all-time, it all led to Miami, Florida for WrestleMania where the two stars delivered in a big way with a fantastic main event with spectacular entrances, musical performances, false finishes, excellent exchanges and, in the end, the match turned out to be a classic. Seriously, if you haven't seen some of Rock and Cena's promos in the buildup to this one, do yourself a favour and watch them now.
