10 Best Candidates To Induct DDP Into WWE Hall Of Fame 2017

6. Scott Hall & Kevin Nash

DDP Hall Of Fame
WWE

It can be argued that aside from Page himself, no one is more responsible for the success of DDP than Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. When The Outsiders sprang onto the scene in WCW and kickstarted the hottest angle in wrestling history, they were running roughshod over every single babyface the company threw at them and never showed any weakness.

They were portrayed as the ultimate bad*sses and every WCW wrestler either tried to fight them and failed, or they attempted to join their ranks. It was around this time that they began courting Diamond Dallas Page – at the time a midcard heel – to come over to the dark side and be a part of the nWo. All signs seemed to point to him joining, but instead he turned he turned down the offer by swerving Hall and Nash and hitting Scott with an iconic Diamond Cutter.

This instantly made him one of the hottest faces in the business, and he rode that momentum hard and fast. But the real story lies in the fact that behind the scenes, Hall and Nash lobbied for Page to be one given this spot. Not only did they see potential in him, they also felt a debt of gratitude for the role he played in the early part of their careers.

Eric Bischoff was opposed to the idea and didn’t feel DDP should be elevated to that role, but they pushed for him and got their way. If it weren’t for their persistence in going to bat for their friend it’s possible we never would have seen DDP outside of a midcard role. Later on he repaid their favor with loyalty of his own, effectively saving Scott Hall’s life when he had hit rock bottom.

These two would be an outstanding choice.
