10 Best Candidates To Induct DDP Into WWE Hall Of Fame 2017

2. Karl Malone

WWE loves their celebrities and jumps on any chance to use them in any capacity whenever possible. Just take a look at random Hall inductions from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Menounos for evidence of this. The Arnold inducted Bruno Sammartino and the actress did the same for Bob Backlund, each in 2013 when both men had more suitable and logical candidates.

Karl Malone may not have been a part of WCW for long, but he was around for one of their more high-profile angles when he teamed up with Diamond Dallas Page to take on Hulk Hogan and fellow NBA star Dennis Rodman, and despite never setting footing in the ring prior to training for the match he actually managed to represent himself quite well.

While wrestling purists don't look back on this angle all that fondly, it did well for WCW from a publicity and financial standpoint. Bash At The Beach 1998 saw the villians defeat the face team of Page and Malone through the usual nWo shenanigans in a match that wasn't well-received by critics outside of how impressive the NBA legend looked compared to the laziness of his peer on the other side of the ring.

While the longtime Utah Jazz power forward and Dallas Page may not have had the closest of relationships, he's a notable celebrity with legitimate ties to the wrestler and WWE would be all over the chance to get the NBA Hall of Famer to induct one of their own.
