10 Best Candidates To Take John Cena's US Title

7. Seth Rollins

WWE has aired a lot of Seth Rollins versus John Cena matches lately, but nobody's been complaining - the feud has been excellent, and just like when Cena tangled with CM Punk a few years ago, the two competitors manage to do something different each time out. Rollins is also the man who ended Cena's United States Championship reign at SummerSlam, becoming the U.S. and WWE World Heavyweight Champion simultaneously.

Putting the U.S. title back on Rollins may seem like retreading water, but there was mileage left in Rollins as double champion. Seeing a heel manage to retain two titles would give him even more heat, and shows where Rollins wrestles two matches would be stronger for it. Ring of Honor is currently running a similar angle with Jay Lethal as their World and Television Champion, and it's cemented Lethal as the undisputed best in his company.

Plus, Cena could return for a blowoff match with Rollins at the Royal Rumble, and it could be their greatest encounter of all.
