10 Best Daniel Bryan Matches Since His WWE Return
8. Daniel Bryan Vs. Andrade Cien Almas - SmackDown (4 September 2018)
Daniel Bryan is the best wrestler in WWE Andrade 'Cien' Almas (aka Andrade, aka La Sombra) is arguably the best wrestler under the age of 35 in WWE. At the time of their second match together, with the previous happening the week before, Almas' stock had never been higher in the promotion, still riding off the high of an exceptional NXT title reign and a classic against Johnny Gargano at TakeOver: Philadelphia. Bryan had only been back for a few months and was just starting to have proper dream matches after a summer spent with Big Cass (not talking about it). Both gave everything they could to a SmackDown classic, proving their natural abilities and wonderful chemistry with each other.
This was correlated with the Miz feud at the time, with Bryan and his wife Brie Bella having a mini conflict with Andrade and his manager Zelina Vega in between their beef with Miz and Maryse. It was a feud that didn't really mean much in the long term, and sadly didn't lead to a full blown Almas/Bryan PPV contest, but what we got was electrifying. The men are simply two of the best workers to ever compete in a WWE ring and both showed their unique talents as professional wrestlers. The drama that they managed to work out of a guaranteed result on a random SmackDown is a testament to their abilities.
It's proof that Andrade has the capability to get over with crowds and become a future world title holder, and it's a hope held by everyone that he and Bryan will be able to have longer and even better matches in the future.
