10 Best Endings In WWE Royal Rumble History

1. The Undertaker And Shawn Michaels (2007)

It's no coincidence that in addition to having the greatest WrestleMania match of all-time, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker had the most epic encounter in Royal Rumble history as well.

Interestingly enough, it had been nearly a decade since they last crossed paths, also at the Rumble in 1998. That was the infamous night Undertaker inadvertently injured Michaels with a back body drop on top of the casket, an injury that would ultimately lead to the temporary end of HBK's career for the next four years.

The pair were kept on opposite brands upon Michaels' return to the ring in 2002, so when they finally clashed at the end of the Rumble match in 2007, it was a thing of beauty. Similar to the aforementioned Rumbles, both Michaels and Undertaker were headed to WrestleMania for World Title matches regardless of the result of this bout, but which Texas native would have the honour of winning the Rumble in their home state?

Essentially it was a small preview of their phenomenal WrestleMania match two years later, only in a condensed form. Undertaker doing his signature sit-up while Michaels kipped up behind him was a moment in time. Michaels nearly had the match won at several points as well as 'Taker, but neither man was willing to give in to the other. With the momentum constantly shifting between the two, The Deadman barely scored the scintillating win after dodging the Sweet Chin Music and dumping his future WrestleMania rival to ringside.

The 2007 Rumble itself was hardly memorable, but its conclusion catapults it to the top of the list of the most amazing endings ever. I mean, what else could even come close?
