10 Best Ever Counters To WWE Wrestling Finishers

7. Eddie Rolls Through The Rock Bottom (WWE Raw - 22 July 2002)

The Rock Eddie Guerrero Counter
WWE

How smooth was Eddie Guerrero?

It's a compliment that gets trotted out regularly yet it still doesn't seem enough, as highlighted by moments like this slick counter to the Rock Bottom on a Ruthless Aggression episode of Raw.

Here, Guerrero has the presence of mind to seize Rocky's arm as he hoists him up for his version of the STO. A perfect arm drag takes the bigger man to the ground with Eddie still latched on, so 'Latino Heat' presses his back against Rock's stomach and grabs a leg, going for the pinfall.

It didn't win Eddie the match but certainly could have, as it was one of the bout's more exciting moments. The Rock deserves great credit for playing his role as well, as the counter was as reliant on his athleticism to roll down to the mat as it was Eddie's.
