10 Best Ever Excuses For Losing A Wrestling Match

8. For God's Sake

Hulk Hogan has previously spoken at length about how WrestleMania VI's Toronto crowd only had eyes for him as he departed the 'Show Of Shows' without his WWE Championship, all thanks to his politically smart decision to hand the belt to the Ultimate Warrior himself after their epic 'Ultimate Challenge'. This only formed part of his faux-torch pass - he was undermining his opponent the second after the loss.

Kicking out a split-second after the referee registered the three, Hogan immediately rose to his knees and looked up to the heavens. With the camera locked on his gesticulations rather than the new titleholder darting about the ring, 'The Hulkster' appeared to plead with the "big man upstairs", asking how He could have forsaken him - almost as if the Warrior had nothing to do with the biggest win of his career.

This was next-level spot protection from one of the masters of the craft - even when he was barely losing, he was still blaming some sort of spiritual conspiracy against him rather than his opponent being the better man.
