10 Best Ever WWE Angles Involving Brock Lesnar

9. The WrestleMania Shooting-Star Press

The match with Angle at WrestleMania was a dream bout for many. Angle was a double NCAA Champion, Olympic gold-medalist and WWE title holder. Brock was a NCAA champion also and the youngest champion in WWE€™s history. The story leading up to this point was one of back-stabbing and deceit as Lesnar€™s former manager sided with Angle and, following Brock€™s first pin-fall loss against Big Show. The battle between the two collegiate wrestlers turned nasty with Lesnar injuring Angle€™s knee and then going on to win the Royal Rumble to finally get his shot against the €˜Wrestling Machine€™. The match was a very different beast for a WrestleMania main event as the two took it down to the mat initially and battled back with hold and counter-hold. Initially the crowd didn€™t know what to make of it but soon they were as back and forth as everyone had hoped. The battle continued for twenty minutes as Angle went continually after Lesnar€™s ribs and, after Lesnar kicked out of the Angle Slam, Brock hit the F-5, which Kurt kicked out of. After an ankle lock which then moved into another F-5, Brock decided that he needed to do something big to finish off Kurt, a shooting star press. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoOKI-87zYE Now, this was a move Brock had done many times in OVW but to do it on the grandest stage of them all was unheard of and, unfortunately, Lesnar misjudged the distance and landed on his head as Angle rolled away. Showing the toughness that would guide him to the UFC title, Brock, obviously concussed, managed to kick out of a pin and then hit a third F-5 for the win. You only need to look at Lesnar€™s face afterwards though to know he had no idea what the hell was happening and Lesnar definitely needed Kurt to see him through those last few moments which was then repaid in the ring with a very public handshake of thanks.
