It's a credit to Randy Orton that he has been able to take a long-standing move in pro wrestling and very much make it his own. Years before Orton was even wrestling, Diamond Dallas Page used the Diamond Cutter. Even before then, Johnny Ace was using the move and calling it the Ace Crusher.

Today, the jumping move that causes opponents to face plant is now better known as the RKO. Randy even has a t-shirt with #OuttaNowhere splashed across it, such is the popularity of the hold and the instant satisfaction that comes from seeing it performed during the man's matches.

Orton's RKO has even become a major plot point in the ongoing feud between he and Brock Lesnar. That really sells the threat of the move, putting over how easy it is for Orton to lock his rival in position and drop them at a moments notice.

Sometimes, Randy Orton builds up towards the RKO, punching the mat and readying himself to strike. However, it's much more effective when it happens suddenly, ending a match in seconds.
